| How to make a low-budget trike hangar |

Larry Wallace from Alabama has recently built a single-trike hangar for US$1582 only. He plans to write an article about the project and send it to the UL magazines. Until then you may read the summary of his comments posted on UltralightTrikes newsgroup and look at some pictures.
![]() Completed hangar The complete slideshow can be seen here. Below is the summary of Larry's comments about the project. My completed cost including the "sidetrike" trolley was $1582. Breakdown as follows:
I didn't include the crushed stone because, hindsight being so clear, I should have used compacted sand under drainage cloth......next time, maybe. I spent about 8 "man-days" on it. The foundation extension (30") is on posts which entailed digging several post holes in VERY HARD Alabama red dirt. I forgot to add to my construction cost list, "Labor.........."$Priceless". ;) I did most of the work myself but you need about 2 more folks to hang the metal roof and siding and at least one more to assemble the metal building frame. It really does go together pretty quickly.
