The period of time in which you will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for your first solo flight is a function of multiple variables.
Our flight training course includes 12 hours of dual in-flight instruction and 2 hours of monitored solo flight. It would be incorrect to assume that one can master the pilot skills by completing all these hours in two seven-hour days. Even two weeks won't be enough. It works the best when you fly for an hour or two a day, then "sleep on" the acquired skills for a couple of days and then come back. Perhaps it has something to do with engaging the long-term memory. The human factor is another variable. Some people absorb flight training faster than the others. Some require additional dual instruction hours before they are ready to solo. Your first solo usually comes between 10 and 20 hours of flight training. The important thing is not how many hours you fly but how much confidence you and your instructor have in your skills and experience. Generally it helps if you have previous flight experience even in the different type of aircraft. Don't discount the weather factor too. Sometimes when you are ready for your next training session, the weather is not. In addition to practical skills you also need to learn some theory before you can fly on your own. Our ground school includes 20 hours of classroom training. The three-hour classes are taught once a week and the complete course takes about a couple of months. If you can't commit so much time, there are several options that may help you to complete it in shorter time. Thus we may arrange individual ground school training sessions based on the instructor's availability. Another option for you is to self-study at your own pace and then demonstrate your knowledge to the instructor. You may use your own materials for that or we can supply you with our comprehensive ground-school set. With all the above in mind, realistically it will take you at least a month to complete your training. |
